Privacy. This is a summary of our Privacy Notice. Before submitting an application to join Witney & District Model Flying Club you should visit our website at wdmfc.co.uk where a copy of the notice is available or you may request that a copy be provided by email. By becoming a member of the club, you’re agreeing to be bound by the conditions contained in the Privacy Notice displayed on the club’s website.

At the Witney and District Model Flying Club we are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

We obtain information about you when you apply to become a member of the club either online with the British Model Flying Association (BMFA), via telephone, or in person.

What type of information is collected about you?

The personal information we collect might include your name, address, email address, telephone number, gender and IP address. The legal bases for the processing of your personal data is to enable the club to fulfil our contractual obligations and provide membership services.

How is your information used?

We may use your information to:

• process your membership;
• to carry out our obligations arising from your membership;
• seek your views or comments on matters relating to the club and model aircraft flying
• notify you of changes to our services;
• send you communications which you have requested and that may be of interest
to you. These may include information about club events and contests and other club related matters, also information from the BMFA that may be of interest.

How long do we retain your information?

We will hold your personal information on the BMFA Membership Portal for as long as is necessary to carry out our obligations in relation to your membership, or as long as is set out in any relevant agreement between us. Where an individual persons club membership lapses your information will be securely kept for a period of 5 years, after which your information held by this club will be deleted.

Who has access to your information?

We will not sell or rent your information to third parties.

We will not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

All members of the club must also be members of the BMFA. By joining the club you give consent for your personal data to be shared with the BMFA to enable provision of BMFA membership services. Please see the BMFA privacy policy at https://www.bmfa.org/Privacy-Policy Please be reassured that we will not release your information to third parties beyond the club unless we are required to do so by law, for example, by a court order or for the purposes of prevention of fraud or other crime.

How you can access and update your information?

The accuracy of your information is important to us. You can check the information we hold is correct on the members portal area of the BMFA website and update the information if necessary directly through that website, or by email to info@wdmfc.co.uk.

What are your rights?

You may exercise any of your rights in relation to your personal data by written notice to us OR by using your BMFA members dashboard when logged into the BMFA Membership Portal.
